The 3rd and 4th grade house league program is designed to introduce basketball skills and fundamentals, while promoting a love for the game. For many, this is a first time basketball experience.
The season runs from late September thru mid December. There is not a winter session for 3rd and 4th grade. Practices are held during the week. There will be two practices a week in September before the first game and then one practice a week following the first game. Practices are 1 hour long and can be held on any week day night from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Games are held on Saturdays. Each team will play one game each Saturday excluding MEA and Thanksgiving. Game times are dependent upon the number of teams in the program. Plan to play for one hour between 8:00am and 5:00pm. There will be a tournament and awards will be presented at the conclusion of the season in December.
On-line registration is available during the sign-up period. An in person registration is available (see registration page), however teams may have been formed by this time and space may be limited. Also, save money by registering online.
In September, teams will be formed and schedules prepared for the 2008 basketball season. The coaches will be receiving this information at a coaches meeting in the middle of September (see calendar for specific dates). The coaches will be calling players to let them know their team rosters and their first practice time shortly after this meeting. If you do not hear from your coach by the Monday following the meeting, please call the Elementary Commissioner line.
